Made of good wood
Timbi is imagined as solid wood. Strong, long-lasting and full of character. He stands for honest craftsmanship and things you can rely on. Values that sustain small and medium-sized businesses.
His joints represent flexibility: rules change, and so does everyday work. Timbi moves with them, without creaking.
A short name
My surname is part of Timbi’s story too: Langholz. Add the English word “timber”, and Timbi was born.
So Langholz becomes a rather short name. He takes it in his stride.

From my photo to Timbi
I wanted a wooden character for my platform. But the first AI designs reminded me too much of familiar animated films. So I used my own photo as the starting point.
First, AI helped create an altered portrait: a little older, a little slimmer. That became Timbi. Androgynous, made of wood and still a little like me. The glasses stayed. They stand for looking closely.

The illustrations on this website are created with AI. For Timbi, the idea, personal starting point and selection came from me. AI helped bring the visuals to life. The portrait shown here has also already been altered with AI; my original photo remains private.

Setting the right tone
Compliance is often seen as dry, rigid and artificial. Klangholz Compliance focuses on understandable rules and situations people recognise from their working lives.
Timbi stands for treating people as equals. He helps set the right tone in a company. With Klangholz meaning “tonewood”, the wordplay is deliberate, and so is the promise.
